The beautiful woods, where our house sits, offers some amazing activities this time of the year. First, we get to admire the beauty of God's creation ~ with every tree branch covered with the crisp fresh snow. The squirrels scurry about looking for a left over nut or a quick chance to rob the bird feeders. The bird watching is spectacular. We have several different types of woodpeckers, bright vibrant cardinals, little juncos and big fat robins (they definitely have their winter coats on!) just to name a few. The noise of the geese honking behind the house is beautiful to hear. Scott hears a different song than I do. His feathers get all ruffled thinking about the geese landing on the river behind the house. He gets out the binoculars and begins planning for the HUNT! Well, Sunday afternoon after church, Mason, Scott and a friend, Glenn, went after the flock. They had a ball - and a successful hunt. They shot 5 geese. We'll have goose for dinner very soon.
