Thankful

Our Thanksgiving time started off helping with the "Thanksgiving Basket Project". Kim's Uncle Terry started this project 11 years ago, after God spoke to him to feed those not able to afford a traditional Thanksgiving meal due to tough times. The first year we feed approx. 6 families. This year we assembled 3,600 baskets, with the help of several hundred other volunteers. Each family received the fixings, including a 12 lb. turkey. This tradition, of assembling baskets each year, is one way to get the kids involved in learning how to serve an awesome God, who has blessed our family in so many ways!

We were all thrilled to get a break from school. We spent one afternoon bowling with Grandma and Pa and the cousins. Christmas break cannot come soon enough for all of us!

We enjoyed Thanksgiving Day with Kim's side of the family at her Uncle Wes and Aunt Max's house on Lake Sara. Kim's Aunt Judy was able to be with us for the day, which was an answer to our prayers, since the cancer is really making her uncomfortable these days. We praise God for the special time we shared together.

We spent the Friday after Thanksgiving with Scott's family in Peoria. We had a wonderful day, in spite of the fact that it was a quick trip, as we had to be back in the Decatur area for a 4:00 p.m. basketball game. The highlight of the day was seeing cousin Anna, who just turned 1 yr! What a joyful little bundle!!
