On Saturday we headed to Grandpa and Grandma's house to celebrate two birthdays. Scott turns 48 on Aug. 25th and Reagan, Kim's youngest nephew, turns 6 on Aug. 26th. We were supposed to have a cookout. . . but we ended up in the air-conditioning keeping cool, except Grandpa slaving over the hot grill. The meal was great, followed by delicious birthday cake (Mom, I need that recipe) and homemade ice cream. Yummy!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!
Grandpa and Grandma pictured with 7 of their 10 grandkids trying to muster up a smile through their sweaty brows. We headed to the nearby park after lunch for a little game of family baseball. We used a tennis ball instead of a baseball ~ more family friendly. It was extremely hot!!, as it usually is in August in Central IL. We have been spoiled with an amazing Aug. this yr. thus far, with low 80's and no humidity, until game time on Saturday. We managed to have fun in spite of the extreme temps.

Kim, Scott and kids,
Looking at your blog after a family event is like doublemint gum--it doubles the pleasure and doubles the fun. We get to enjoy the event and then get to savor the pictures and comments. Thanks, you're doing a great job. Love you.
