Slumber Party Time!

The two week long celebration of Maggie's 8th B-day has finally come to the end, with a slumber party with 3 school friends. Maggie had her guests bring dog toys for the local animal shelter instead of birthday gifts. It was neat to see what the girls pulled out of their bags. It will really be fun to deliver them to the shelter. We have to keep them away from Tilly until we can make that trip to the shelter. Tilly was, in usual fashion, the biggest hit of the party!
We made homemade pizzas with all the fixins. With 4 little helpers rolling out the dough and adding all the toppings, my kitchen was a bit of a mess - but we had a great time! The pizza wasn't Monical's quality, but it was much more entertaining than having Daddy pick up pizzas on the way home from work!
The girls had a great time changing from gymnastic gear to ballet skirts and finally into their p.j.s to end the evening. They were all sound asleep by 10:20p.m. and we didn't hear a peep until 6:24 a.m., a bit early for me on a Sat., but a good night rest for the most part for all the slumber gals. We crack the whip around here. . .there is nothing worse that sending your kid to a sleep-over, only to have them come home and tell you they stayed up until 2 a.m. ! They are then shot for most of the weekend. We believe in the power of sleep (not just for the wee ones!)

Looks like Maggie and her pals had a fun slumber/birthday party! I remember those days when Sarah was Maggie's age. What a neat idea about getting gifts for the pet shelter too.

Wow! Maggie is quite the environmentalist, how grown up of her to sacrifice presents for making puppies without homes happy! I'm so proud of her :)
