Summer Fun

I thought I would have more free time to blog~now that lazy summer days are here. Wrong! Life is as busy as ever! We are having a great time, but on the GO! Mason spent the week at church camp. He attended the same camp Kim and her siblings attended when we were wee folk. He says it is the best week of the summer every year.

This morning we had our swim team fund raiser, the "Lake Swim". It offered a 300 meter swim for those 12 and under and a 1000, 2000 or 3000 meter swim for those over 12 yrs. We have a triathlon coming up the first weekend in July and this swim offers those in training a chance to work on the swimming leg of the race. Maggie competed in the youth portion ~ her first ever open water swim. She finished 3 in the 12 and under group. Mason did the 2000 meter swim (it is approx. 1 1/4 mile). He finished 3rd. It was a beautiful day and a fun event! (Allie was at a slumber party so she missed the lake race-she's not big on murky, muddy water anyway!
